Saxo Bank has notified OpenAPI users about upcoming onboarding changes that will introduce additional client information requirements through its Client Management Service from January 1, 2027.

The update affects the /cm/v1/signups endpoint, where three new fields will become mandatory for all newly onboarded clients. These additions include ConsentForTaxReliefUsExpiryYear, and UsTaxDocumentation, all of which will be within the RegulatoryInformation → FactaDeclaration object.

Alongside the new data fields, Saxo Bank is also expanding the document requirements under the /signups/attachments endpoint. Two new document types, UsTaxForm and CrsStatus, will be added to the SignupFlowDocumentType category, requiring developers and integration partners to update their onboarding workflows before the changes take effect.

Saxo Bank Announces New OpenAPI Onboarding Requirements

The revised requirements are going for all newly onboarding clients from the start of 2027, giving OpenAPI users several months to adapt their applications and integrations.

Saxo’s OpenAPI serves as the technology foundation behind platforms such as SaxoTraderGO and enables partners, developers, and clients to access the bank’s multi-asset trading infrastructure. The interface provides resources for building trading platforms, portfolio management tools, and onboarding solutions while facilitating deeper integration with Saxo Bank’s ecosystem.

For individual Saxo Bank clients, the OpenAPI can develop custom portfolio analysis applications, export balances and positions into external tools such as Excel or R, monitor account performance through native applications, and create specialized trading interfaces tailored to specific instruments or trading strategies.

Introducing Brokers and White Label partners can leverage the API to integrate positions, orders, and account balances into proprietary client portals, embed trading functionality within existing websites, and simplify client onboarding through the dedicated On-boarding API.

The OpenAPI also supports third-party developers building professional trading and chart analysis platforms by enabling access to Saxo’s client base, portfolio information, and trading capabilities. These integrations allow developers to customize analytical tools based on client holdings and product interests while facilitating trading directly through their software solutions.
