Interactive Brokers has rolled out version 1.2.0 of IBKR Connector, introducing functionality that allows users to access and run previously saved stock screeners directly through connected AI platforms without switching applications.

The update enables clients to ask their AI assistant to retrieve a saved screener by name. The assistant displays the screener’s parameters and returns matching results within the chat interface, making it easier to access stock-screening tools through conversational AI.

Results are presented as a ranked list containing each stock’s position, ticker symbol, and company name. For example, a result may appear as “1. NVDA, Nvidia Inc.” The connector displays the top 10 matches by default, while users can request additional results, up to 50 stocks per request.

Each screening result also includes a deep link to Interactive Brokers’ Client Portal. Users can follow the link to access the complete screening output and review the underlying data points, providing a route from AI-generated results to more detailed information within the brokerage platform.

Interactive Brokers has also outlined plans to expand the connector’s screening capabilities. A forthcoming feature will allow users to create and manage screeners using AI. Clients will be able to describe the stocks or characteristics they want to identify, with AI building the corresponding screener. Users will then be able to save, refine, or delete their screeners as their investment strategies change. The company has not specified a launch date for these additional capabilities.

The release continues Interactive Brokers’ broader development of its Model Context Protocol (MCP)-based connector, which allows clients to connect their brokerage accounts to compatible AI applications.

The company previously expanded access by enabling connections to a wider range of MCP-compatible platforms. Alongside official connectors available through ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok, users can connect their accounts to tools including Claude Code, Cursor, and ChatGPT Workspaces.

By bringing saved screeners into AI conversations, version 1.2.0 reduces the need to move between applications when searching for stocks. The planned AI-powered screener creation tools could extend this approach further, allowing investors to translate screening criteria into reusable tools through natural-language instructions.
