Interactive Brokers has released its key operating metrics for September 2025, showcasing significant growth across trading activity, client accounts, and overall financial performance.

The brokerage recorded 3.864 million Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) for September, representing a 47% increase compared to September 2024 and an 11% rise from August 2025. This surge underscores the continued strength in client engagement and market activity.

Ending client equity reached $757.5 billion, up 40% year-over-year and 6% month-over-month. Client margin loan balances rose to $77.3 billion, reflecting a 39% increase from the previous year and an 8% gain from the prior month. Additionally, client credit balances totaled $154.8 billion, including $6.2 billion in insured bank deposit sweeps, marking a 33% increase compared to September 2024 and a 6% rise from August 2025.

Interactive Brokers’ client base continued to expand, ending the month with 4.127 million accounts, 32% higher than the prior year and 2% higher than the previous month. Real account growth in September amounted to 111.9 thousand accounts, offset slightly by the withdrawal of one introducing broker with 38.8 thousand accounts and $413.5 million in customer assets from a Futu subsidiary. The firm expects an additional 2.9 thousand account closures to finalize this process.

Financially, Interactive Brokers reported and adjusted diluted earnings per share of $0.51 for the second quarter of 2025. Both reported and adjusted net revenues were $1,480 million, while income before income taxes reached $1,104 million. Commission revenue grew 27% to $516 million, driven by higher customer trading volumes. Specifically, trading volumes increased 31% in stocks, 24% in options, and 18% in futures.
