Interactive Brokers Group has released its key operating metrics for December 2025, outlining changes in trading activity, client balances, and account growth compared with both the prior month and the same period last year.

The brokerage reported 3.384 million Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) for December 2025. This figure represents a 4% increase year over year compared with December 2024, while showing a 21% decline from November 2025, reflecting lower trading activity toward the end of the year.

Client assets continued to expand. Ending client equity reached $779.9 billion, marking a 37% increase from the prior year and a 1% rise from the previous month. The growth in client equity points to continued asset inflows and market-related changes during the period.

Margin activity also moved higher. Ending client margin loan balances totaled $90.2 billion, up 40% year over year and 8% month over month. The increase indicates sustained use of leverage by clients, even as overall trading volumes moderated from November levels.

Client credit balances rose as well. Ending client credit balances stood at $160.1 billion, which included $6.4 billion in insured bank deposit sweeps. This figure was 34% higher than a year earlier and 4% higher than the previous month, reflecting higher cash holdings across client accounts.

Account growth remained steady in December. Interactive Brokers reported 4.399 million client accounts, representing a 32% increase compared with December 2024 and a 2% increase from November 2025. The continued rise in account numbers suggests ongoing client acquisition across global markets.

On the revenue side, the firm stated that the average commission per cleared Commissionable Order was $2.57, inclusive of exchange, clearing, and regulatory fees. This metric provides insight into trading costs per order processed during the month.

The December 2025 operating metrics highlight a mix of lower monthly trading activity alongside continued expansion in client assets, balances, and accounts for Interactive Brokers as the year concluded.
