Interactive Brokers Adds Thematic Investing Tools to TWS Platform

Interactive Brokers continues to upgrade its trading technology, introducing innovative features to its flagship Trader Workstation (TWS) platform. In its latest beta build, the brokerage firm has unveiled a new functionality called Themes, designed to enhance user insights and streamline research capabilities.

The Themes feature allows traders to explore companies and data tied to specific investment themes, such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, or fintech. Users can navigate from the theme to individual companies and delve into deeper connections within the same category.

To access the feature, traders can either:

• Right-click an asset and select the Fundamentals Explorer icon, or
• Use the New Window icon in the Mosaic layout to search and select Fundamentals Explorer.

Once inside the Fundamentals Explorer, users can select the Themes tab, click on a theme, and choose Theme Overview to examine relevant instruments and background details.

Alongside this, Interactive Brokers has added a new pricing column to the platform, the 30–Day Average Close Price. This column provides the average closing price of a selected asset over the last 30 trading days, helping users assess medium-term price trends at a glance.

These improvements follow earlier enhancements in build 10.36, which introduced Forecast Contracts provided by ForecastEx, LLC on select CME Futures. These contracts are tied to event-based outcomes and are valid for the trading day only. Forecast and Event Contracts give traders the opportunity to express directional views on futures prices, offering a simplified entry into the world of short-term market speculation.

With these consistent updates, Interactive Brokers reinforces its position as a leader in providing sophisticated, data-driven trading tools to retail and institutional clients.
