The brokerage recorded 4.306 million Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) in October 2026, representing a 4% decline compared with October 2025. However, the figure increased by 5% from September 2026, indicating a monthly recovery in trading activity.

Client margin loan balances reached $106.8 billion at the end of October, increasing 31% year-over-year and 2% month-over-month. The figures indicate continued growth in the amount of margin financing used by clients.

Meanwhile, ending client credit balances amounted to $180.5 billion, including $6.2 billion held in insured bank deposit sweeps. This represented a 15% increase from October 2025, although the balance declined by 3% compared with the previous month.

Interactive Brokers also reported 5.678 million client accounts at the end of October 2026. This was 34% higher than a year earlier and 2% above the September 2026 figure, reflecting continued expansion of its customer base.

The average commission per cleared commissionable order was $2.46, inclusive of exchange, clearing and regulatory fees.

Overall, Interactive Brokers’ October metrics show a mixed picture of trading activity, with DARTs declining annually but improving month-over-month. Meanwhile, client accounts and margin loan balances continued to expand, while client equity and credit balances recorded monthly declines despite remaining substantially higher than their year-earlier levels.
