IC Markets has announced a new management structure to lead its Australian operations, following the passing of General Manager Ben Singleton late last year.

The newly formed leadership team will be headed by Peter Tardent, who has joined IC Markets as General Manager, Australia. Tardent brings more than 20 years of experience across trading, brokerage, and financial technology. Prior to joining IC Markets, he served as Enterprise Solutions Leader at broker technology firm ViewTrade. He has also held senior leadership roles at IG Group, where he was General Manager for Sydney, as well as positions at JBWere, AUSIEX, and CommSec.

IC Markets said the appointments underline its focus on the Australian market and its plans to strengthen local management and operational capabilities.

Alongside Tardent, the company has made several senior hires across finance, marketing, compliance, risk, and human resources. Gordon MacArthur has joined as Chief Financial Officer, arriving from market maker Optiver, where he was Finance Manager for Australia. His previous experience includes senior finance roles at Macquarie Group, Tibra Capital, HSBC, and PwC Australia.

Bao Huynh has been appointed Country Marketing Manager. He joins IC Markets from Allianz Retire+, where he led digital marketing initiatives. Huynh has also held senior marketing roles at institutional broker 26 Degrees, Morningstar, Perpetual Limited, and BBY Limited.

Ajay Bhatia has taken on the role of Head of Compliance. His background includes compliance and regulatory positions at CMC Markets, Axi, EML, UOB, MoneyGram, and several large banking institutions. Most recently, he served as MLRO and Senior Compliance Manager at ANNA Money.

Peter Murphy is the new Operational Risk Manager, bringing more than two decades of experience from roles at Deutsche Bank, UBS, and Instinet, where he served as Chief Operating Officer for Australia and later as Head of Operational Risk Management for Asia in Hong Kong.

Constance Koullinos has rejoined IC Markets as Head of HR, returning from consulting firm Amplify HR after previously serving as HR Manager at the broker.

Commenting on the changes, Tardent said the company is building a strong local leadership group to support the growth of the IC Markets brand and its Australian client base.

The new appointments join Brendan Ray, Head of Operations for IC Markets Australia, who joined the firm last year from FP Markets, as the broker continues to reinforce its domestic leadership team.
