IC Markets has announced a significant update to its trading environment aimed at enhancing risk controls and improving trading stability. Effective Friday, 20 June 2025, IC Markets will implement dynamic leverage for US stock trading.

According to IC Markets, this change is part of its ongoing efforts to support responsible trading practices and protect clients during periods of increased market volatility, particularly during the US stock market session.

Dynamic Leverage Schedule:

• 15 minutes after session opens (16:50 server time): Leverage set to 1:20
• 1 hour before session close (21:55 server time): Leverage reduced to 1:10
• 15 minutes before session close (22:40 server time): Leverage further lowered to 1:5

These leverage levels will automatically for all trading activity during the US session, which runs from 16:35 to 22:55 server time.

Importantly, the dynamic leverage model will affect not only new trades placed during these intervals but also any open positions, ensuring that traders are fully aligned with the updated margin requirements in real time.

IC Markets emphasized that this change will help mitigate the risks posed by sudden price movements and lower market liquidity, especially near session openings and closings—periods traditionally known for heightened volatility.
