XTB has announced a partnership with VanEck, a renowned global ETF manager. The collaboration seeks to streamline access to indexed investing via ETF investment plans offered by XTB, thereby simplifying the incorporation of VanEck’s latest ETF products into retail traders’ portfolios.

The initiative shows the growing importance of the Spanish ETF market, which has seen significant expansion in recent years. XTB reports that a substantial majority of their global clientele begin their investment journeys with ETFs and stocks, positioning the broker as a leading multi-product investment app in Spain.

Javier Urones, Head of Business at XTB Spain, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to announce this partnership with VanEck, one of the top ETF managers globally, whose products many of our clients in Spain already invest in. We hope this union will help us continue to raise awareness of ETFs and Investment Plans as one of the most optimal savings alternatives for retail investors in our country.”

XTB and VanEck Partnership to Expand ETF Investments in Spain

The introduction of ETF-Based Investment Plans by XTB in late 2023 marked a significant step towards catering to passive investors, initially launching in Portugal and Slovakia before expanding into the Spanish market. Within XTB’s investment app, users can choose from over 350 ETFs spanning various asset classes, including stocks, bonds, commodities, and recently added clean energy funds.

So, beyond facilitating investment opportunities, the collaboration between XTB and VanEck aims to cultivate a culture of savings in Spain, addressing the nation’s relatively low savings rate of under 6%, contrasting with higher rates observed in neighboring European countries.

Also, Eduardo Escario, Regional Director of Business Development at VanEck, highlighted the benefits of ETFs, stating, “ETFs are vehicles that help invest in a diversified and low-cost manner, making them a product that fits the needs of retail clients.”

Moreover, this collaboration with VanEck follows XTB’s recent agreements with other major asset managers, including BlackRock, showing its commitment to broadening its portfolio of passive investment options.

The partnership between XTB and VanEck is going to drive significant advancements in the accessibility and popularity of ETF investments among Spanish retail investors.
