Interactive Brokers Group has announced the launch of access to equities listed on the Korea Exchange, allowing eligible clients worldwide to trade Korean stocks through its global trading platform.

The addition of Korea Exchange access expands the range of international markets available through Interactive Brokers, giving investors the ability to trade Korean equities and derivatives alongside products from more than 170 global markets. Clients can access stocks, options, futures, currencies, bonds, and funds from a single account and interface.

According to the company, the rollout is designed for investors managing portfolios across multiple regions and time zones. Eligible users can receive same-day account enablement, real-time execution, and institutional-style pricing for trading Korean securities.

David Friedland, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Interactive Brokers, said the Korea Exchange is one of Asia’s active equity markets and that the launch broadens opportunities for clients seeking exposure to the region.

“Korea is one of Asia’s most dynamic equity markets, and access to the KRX enables our clients to more comprehensively manage their Asian exposure,” Friedland said. “This launch is a natural extension of our mission to continually expand market access, ensuring our clients can seize investment opportunities wherever they exist.”

Interactive Brokers stated that clients will gain access to more than 1,800 listed securities on the Korean market. The offering also includes multi-currency support and foreign exchange conversion commissions starting at 0.20 basis points, or 0.0020% of trade value.

The company added that integrated portfolio margining will be available across global holdings where applicable, while API connectivity will support algorithmic trading strategies for institutional and advanced users.

Existing clients can activate Korea Exchange market data and trading permissions through the Client Portal. New users can apply for accounts online, with most approvals completed within one business day.

Interactive Brokers noted that access to Korea Exchange equities will not be available to residents of Korea, clients of Interactive Brokers Securities Japan Inc., or clients of Interactive Brokers India Pvt. Ltd.
